Mohsin Naqvi resumes Margalla road expansion project in Islamabad after 17-Year delay

ISLAMABAD: Under the guidance of Minister of Interior Mohsin Naqvi, work on the Margalla Road expansion project in the federal capital city, Islamabad, which had been on hold for 17 years since 2008, has resumed.

As per Official media report, Mohsin Naqvi visited the Margalla Road project to look at the pavement work. The minister assessed the quality of the construction work and instructed that the project be completed by August 14, 2024.

He stated that the road should be opened to traffic before August 14. The minister instructed that a cycle track should also be built. He added that Margalla Avenue will be connected to Murree Road.

Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa reported that the project was initiated in 2007 and was expected to be completed in 2008.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon and the contractor were also in attendance.

On the other hand, under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a special pink bus service for female students and teachers of Islamabad will start from August 7.

The Ministry of Education stated that these pink buses will operate on all major roads, connect rural areas with urban centers, and make travel easier and safer for them.
