ISLAMABAD: Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed the installation of electric vehicle charging stations at the H-9 bus depot and the augmentation of charging point capacity at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.
During his visit to the Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations situated at the Jinnah Convention Centre and H-9 Bus Depot in Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa issued directives. The Chairman was briefed that the 1 MW LT panel installed at the Jinnah Convention Centre has the capability to charge 12 electric buses simultaneously.
The chairman was briefed that the initial phase has involved the acquisition of 60 buses, with ongoing efforts on the project’s command and control system. The chairman reiterated that the project to procure electric buses consists of four components.
The chairman received information that the project’s command and control system is presently in progress, with the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) slated for completion by July 31.
Following the ITS implementation, the Islamabad transport system will operate without human intervention. The chairman directed the completion of the Carpeting of the pathways inside the Jinnah Convention Center.
He emphasized that the carpeting work should be executed using internal resources. He directed the Environment Wing to undertake horticulture work within the Convention Centre.
