Additionally, the government might reduce the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by about Rs9.7 per liter due to a $4.97 per barrel decrease in its international price.

In the past two weeks, petrol prices in Pakistan went down by Rs5.45 per liter. Gasoline prices dropped by Rs5.45 per liter, and diesel prices went down by Rs8.42 per liter.

Petrol, Diesel Prices in Pakistan Today:

Fuel Type Price per Litre
Petrol Rs 288.49
High Speed Diesel Rs 281.96

The local currency has been relatively steady against the USD since the decision two weeks ago, averaging around PKR 278.25 per USD.

It’s worth noting that there’s still more than a week before the next price update, so the final prices will depend on global market trends and the exchange rate.

The government will announce the new prices at midnight on May 15, 2024, and they will be effective for the second half of May.
