ISLAMABAD: The President of Iran, Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, got a special welcome when he arrived at the Prime Minister (PM) House to meet Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, along with a big group of people.
Earlier that morning, President Raisi came to the federal capital for a three-day official visit, bringing along his spouse and a group of ministers and businesspeople.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said hi to the important guest at the formal welcome ceremony place. The national songs of both countries played while the Iranian president and the prime minister stood together.
Neatly dressed groups of soldiers gave a special greeting to President Raisi. PM Sharif and President Raisi planted a small tree at the PM House garden to celebrate Earth Day. Then, both leaders introduced their groups to each other before starting their talks.
This visit is the first time any leader of a country has come to Pakistan since the general elections in February 2024. When the Iranian president arrived at Nur Khan Airbase, he was welcomed with a red carpet. Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, who’s a government minister, welcomed the guest.
Wearing traditional clothes, two kids gave a bunch of flowers to the important visitor, who came with his spouse and a big group, including the foreign minister, other government members, senior officials, and many businesspeople.
During the three-day visit, President Raisi will meet the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chairman of the Senate, and Speaker of the National Assembly. He’ll also visit Lahore and Karachi to meet with local leaders.
They’ll talk about things happening in the area and around the world, with a focus on making the bond between Pakistan and Iran stronger and working together on things like trade, connections, energy, farming, and getting people from both countries to know each other better.
