ISLAMABAD: Syed Nasir Ali Rizvi was appointed as the new Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police on Friday.
Rizvi, formerly serving as Deputy Inspector General Operations in Lahore, has taken over from Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, who has been instructed to report to the Establishment Division. Ahead of the general election, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had directed the Establishment Division to transfer the deputy commissioner and the inspector general of Islamabad police. However, upon the government’s request, both officers were retained until the elections concluded.
