ISLAMABAD: Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, representing the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), secured her position as the Member of the National Assembly (MNA) uncontested from NA-207 Nawabshah constituency.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner-II, acting as the returning officer for the constituency, announced on Friday that despite 11 candidates initially filing nomination papers against Aseefa, seven were rejected, and three withdrew their candidacy in support of the PPP candidate.
The seat was vacated by PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari upon his election as President of Pakistan, with Aseefa nominated by the party to contest for the position.
Sher Ali Jamali, the Returning Officer, confirmed the rejection of nomination papers from seven independent candidates, while PTI’s independent candidate, Sardar Sher Muhammad, chose not to appeal against the rejection of his papers. He had previously secured the second position in the general election.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed his delight on social media, celebrating the unopposed election of his younger sister Aseefa Bhutto Zardari from NA-207 Shaheed Benazirabad constituency, a seat formerly held by President Asif Ali Zardari.
Aseefa Bhutto Zardari also expressed her gratitude and honor on social media platforms, pledging to serve all constituents regardless of political affiliations. She thanked the people of her constituency, PPP workers, media organizations, and the press for their support throughout the nomination process until the final publication order.
The PPP celebrated Aseefa Bhutto Zardari’s uncontested election, welcoming her into parliamentary politics and highlighting her presence as a reminder of her mother, the late Benazir Bhutto.
Secretary General of PPP Parliamentarians, Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari, and President of PPP Sindh, Nisar Khuhro, congratulated Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, expressing their belief that her presence in the National Assembly would honor the memory of Benazir Bhutto.
