LONDON: Renowned social media personality Hareem Shah has announced her entry into UK politics with aspirations to secure a seat in the British Parliament in the foreseeable future.
Hareem revealed in a video message that she has aligned herself with a prominent political party in the UK, following an invitation extended by one of its leaders.
“I have joined one of the major UK political parties, although I am not at liberty to divulge its name at this time,” she remarked, alluding to the Labour, Tories, and Liberal Democrats.
Elaborating further, she stated, “A high-ranking figure from one of these parties personally invited me to join their ranks. My aim is to contest elections and eventually become a member of the UK parliament. You will soon witness my presence in the UK Parliament. These parties recognize the significance of youthful and influential figures like myself. They approached me due to my prominence in Google searches and global recognition as one of the most searched individuals.”
“I consider myself fortunate to receive such an opportunity. My electoral victories will be achieved through transparent and equitable means. I intend to advocate for Pakistan and continue my efforts in championing human rights,” she affirmed.
Private media had previously reported that Hareem Shah, a prominent figure on TikTok, had been provided security by Scotland Yard after facing threats following her lodging a complaint with the police regarding alleged harassment, pursuit, and intimidation.
The controversy arose when a faction of British Pakistanis approached Pakistani media outlets, alleging that Hareem had absconded with £6000 following a purported robbery in Manchester, subsequently relocating to London.
Denying any involvement in the alleged theft, Hareem urged her accusers to pursue legal avenues rather than resorting to social media slander and coercion tactics.
Following Hareem’s complaint to the London Police, the investigation expanded to involve local law enforcement from Slough, as well as the UK government’s Modern Slavery Human Trafficking Unit (MSHTU).
Confirming their involvement, the police informed Private TV Channel that Hareem had been advised to relocate from her known address near London for her safety. She was subsequently relocated to an alternate address arranged by the authorities to shield her from individuals purportedly seeking her whereabouts.
Having departed from Pakistan over a year ago, Hareem asserts that London is now her permanent place of residence, with no plans of returning to her home country.
