Nine people were killed and a woman was injured when a rocket launcher shell exploded in a dirt area in Kandhkot tehsil of Kashmore district of Sindh.
5 children, 2 men and 2 women are among the 9 people who died when a rocket launcher shell exploded inside a house located in Mehwal Shah area of Kundhkot, while a woman was injured.
The deceased include 45-year-old Hamifan, 28-year-old Niaz Ahmed, 25-year-old Ayaz Ahmed, 5-year-old Rashid Mehmood, 4-year-old Zubair, 2-year-old Rukhsana, 3-year-old Qurban and 5-year-old Rukhsana. 23-year-old Khadija was injured. Rahim Yar Khan was being taken, but she succumbed to her injuries and died on the way.
SSP Kandhkot Rohail Khosa said that 9 people including 5 children were killed when a rocket launcher shell exploded inside the house of a person named Ali Nawaz Sabzoi in the limits of police station Ghoghat in Kacha area of Kandhkot. Further investigation is ongoing. .
The woman injured in the blast has been named Shaista, according to Rohail Khoso, the dead and injured were brought to Civil Hospital Kandhkot, later the injured woman Shaista was sent to Larkana Hospital from Kandhkot.
He said that all the dead and injured people belong to the same family, the police reached the spot and surrounded the area.
SSP Kashmore Kandhkot said that the children found a rocket shell while playing in the ground which they brought home where it exploded killing 8 people.
He said that police reached the spot and cordoned off the area, further investigation has been started while emergency has been declared in Civil Hospital Kandhkot.
Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (R) Maqbool Baqir, taking notice of the incident, sought a report from the IG Police as to how the rocket launcher reached Zangi Sabzoi Goth.
He inquired from the IG Police whether any shipment of arms was being smuggled in raw material. Are there robbery facilitators in Goth? How did the rocket launcher explode causing so many casualties?
The Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh while expressing grief over the loss of life directed the IG Police to give a detailed report of the incident.

The Sindh APEX Committee was informed that Rangers have been deployed along with the police in the districts of Upper Sindh and the first cache of military-grade weapons has been seized in Ghotki as a result of the crackdown on organized arms smuggling.
The operation has been approved several times, first in March when former Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s cabinet approved a grand operation clean-up in the slum areas.
Later, on September 14, the caretaker cabinet took up the matter in its meeting and decided to launch a large-scale operation in the Kacha area and shut down the internet service.
