PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur ordered strict action against those who broke the policy of including political figures’ pictures in government advertisements. As a result, Secretary of Information Arshad Khan was removed from his position.
According to a private newspaper report, the Chief Minister’s Secretariat wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, expressing concern over the inclusion of the Chief Minister’s picture in a government advertisement.
The letter stated that government advertisements should only be used for public awareness and educational messages, and including any political figure’s picture or political content goes against the official policy.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had instructed immediate action against those who violated this policy. He also ordered officials to identify the responsible individuals and submit a report within 72 hours.

Following this, Secretary of Information Arshad Khan was sacked. Arshad Khan said that the Chief Minister’s picture was added to the advertisement by mistake.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has a clear policy for government advertisements, which does not allow the use of public funds to include pictures of political figures or political content. The Chief Minister has indicated that strict measures will be taken against anyone who violates this policy.
