Islamabad Traffic Fines Increased: Rs 5,000 Penalty for One-Wheeling

ISLAMABAD: Fines have been increased for violating traffic rules in the federal capital Islamabad. 

The Ministry of Interior has released a notification outlining revised fines, setting the minimum penalty for traffic rule violations at Rs 500.

As per the notification, reckless driving will incur a fine of Rs 2,000, underage driving will result in a Rs 2,500 fine, illegal parking will carry a penalty of Rs 1,000, and one-wheeling will be punishable with a Rs 5,000 fine.

The notification specifies that motorcyclists will face a Rs 1,000 fine, while car drivers will be subject to a Rs 1,500 penalty. Speeding public service vehicles (PSVs) will be fined Rs 2,000, and high-tonnage vehicles (HTVs) exceeding speed limits will incur a Rs 2,500 fine. Additionally, using tinted windows on vehicles will result in a Rs 1,500 fine.

The notification also states that driving a motorcycle without a valid license will lead to a Rs 1,000 fine, and driving a car without a proper license will result in a Rs 2,000 fine. HTVs and PSVs operated without the necessary licenses will face an Rs 8,000 fine, according to the notification.
