Rawalpindi : The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has reported that two children lost their lives during a recent gun battle between security forces and terrorists in the Zinghara area of South Waziristan. According to the ISPR statement, the South Waziristan operation was initiated by the military after receiving an intelligence tip-off. During the “intense” exchange of fire, which included mortar fire, eight terrorists were killed while two soldiers were injured.

Pakistan continues to face a spate of terror attacks across its rural and urban centers, targeting the country’s security forces, law enforcement personnel, and innocent civilians. To take down the perpetrators and stop them from challenging the state’s writ, Pakistan’s civil and military leadership has resolved to conduct intelligence-based operations (IBOs) to sanitize areas infiltrated by militants.
