ISLAMABAD: An Additional District and Sessions Court on Saturday directed the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the iddat case.
Additional District and Sessions Court Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka delivered the reserved verdict, declaring the trial court’s verdict null and void.
The court granted Former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s requests to annul their conviction in the iddat case.
Judge Afzal Majoka directed the release of Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, contingent upon their clearance in any other case, and also rejected the plea from the medical board.
Earlier, a district and sessions court in Islamabad dismissed the pleas of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, who sought suspension of their sentences in the iddat case.
Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Afzal Majoka delivered the reserved verdict.
In June, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) orderd the session court to deliver the verdict on the plea seeking suspension of conviction in the Nikah case within a month.
The Islamabad High Court instructed Session Court Judge Afzal Majoka to decide on both pleas in the Nikah case within a specified timeframe.
