KARACHI: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) has declared a water supply disruption for Saturday and Sunday, February 24th and 25th, 2024.
This interruption is due to maintenance activities by K-Electric at a grid station close to Hub Dam.
According to a statement from KW&SC, maintenance will be conducted on the Valika Grid Station for electricity on February 24th and 25th. This will entail a complete shutdown of the Valika Grid, resulting in the complete cessation of electricity supply to all feeder stations of the pumping station and filter plant.
The maintenance work will commence at 8am on February 24th and will persist until 6pm the following day, totaling a 48-hour shutdown period.
KW&SC’s statement noted that as a consequence of the electricity maintenance, the city will experience an overall deficit of 200 million gallons of water from Hub Dam.
In light of this situation, KW&SC has urged residents to store water and utilize it judiciously to mitigate any inconveniences.
