RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has designated Muhammad Abdul Aamer Khattak as the new Commissioner of Rawalpindi Division, as announced by a district government spokesperson on Wednesday. A notification issued by Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhter Zaman confirms this appointment.
Muhammad Abdul Aamer Khattak (PAS/BS-20) has been appointed as Commissioner Rawalpindi Division by the Punjab government. He previously served as Commissioner of Multan Division.
Former Commissioner of Rawalpindi Division, Liaquat Ali Chattha, resigned from his position after admitting to electoral manipulation in the 2024 General Election, which favored losing candidates of PML-N.
Following his revelations during a press conference at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on February 17, Liaquat Ali Chattha was promptly taken into police custody.
