Four Rawalpindi madrassa students die, three injured in road accident

RAWALPINDI: Four madrassa students were died, and three others were seriously injured when their vehicle veered off the road and plunged into a deep ravine near Sehnsa in Kotli district, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

According to a report by a private TV channel, students from Jamia Rizvia Zia-ul-Uloom Rawalpindi were traveling from Sehnsa, Azad Kashmir to Rawalpindi via Sehnsa Road when the front tire burst, causing the driver to lose control.

Four students, identified as Syed Naseer Shah, Syed Amjad Shah, Muhammad Osama, and Imtiaz Shah, died on the spot, while three others sustained serious injuries.

The victims were quickly taken to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital in Sehnsa for treatment. The injured are still in serious condition.

The students were returning to Rawalpindi after attending a close friend’s wedding. They were from various regions, including Attock, Abbottabad, Bari Imam, and Humak Town.

Earlier, on October 16, 10 people were injured when a passenger bus overturned on Rawalpindi Kahota Road.

A spokesperson for 1122 said that the express bus overturned while taking a bend near the Doberan stop on Kahota Road.

Ten passengers on the bus were injured. As soon as the accident was reported, rescue teams reached the spot, and all the injured were shifted to the hospital after first aid.

The local traffic police removed the overturned bus from the road with the help of heavy machinery. Traffic has been fully restored on the road.
