The results from the June 2023 examination series have been distributed to more than half a million students globally in the past week. This year marked Cambridge International’s largest exam series to date, with a remarkable 1.7 million entries from 5,600 schools spanning 147 countries. This figure indicates an impressive 11% increase compared to June 2022.

Given the challenges posed by the pandemic and subsequent disruptions to learning, students in Pakistan have displayed remarkable determination in securing their qualifications despite the circumstances. The efforts of these students reflect their diligence, aided by the steadfast support of their teachers and families.

In Pakistan alone, the June 2023 exam series witnessed over 210,000 entries for Cambridge IGCSE and O-Level qualifications, signaling a 4% rise from June 2022. Noteworthy subjects such as Islamiyat, English Language, and Pakistan Studies emerged as popular choices among students.

Rod Smith, the Group Managing Director of International Education at Cambridge, lauded the achievements of students, acknowledging their resilience in the face of adversity. He commended their dedication and growth, underscoring the value of these qualifications in shaping their future prospects.

Uzma Yousuf, the Country Director of Cambridge International in Pakistan, extended heartfelt congratulations to the accomplished students who overcame uncertainties with unwavering determination. She expressed immense pride in witnessing their triumphant journey and applauded the unwavering commitment of teachers who guided them.

Cambridge International has been progressively restoring the standards of its qualifications to the pre-pandemic levels of 2019. This year’s grading standard has returned to that benchmark, with careful consideration of the pandemic’s impact in setting grade boundaries. This ensures consistency in the grading process and provides a reliable measure of students’ performance.

With over 750 schools in Pakistan offering Cambridge programs and qualifications, the institution’s dedication to maintaining educational excellence remains evident.
