ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, is launching a comprehensive health camp for students studying in institutions under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) to evaluate their health status and guarantee their well-being.

As per sources, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has instructed all Directors of colleges and schools, along with the Area Education Officers in rural areas of Islamabad, to organize health camps in their respective educational institutions.

In connection with this initiative, FDE has urged all Heads of Institutions to gather essential student data to be shared with the Health Camp teams upon their arrival at the concerned institutions, with a deadline set for compiling the data by January 5, 2024.

Addressing the arrangement of these health camps, Riffat Jabeen, Director Academics at the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), commented on Tuesday that the primary objective of this undertaking is to ensure the health and well-being of the students. She mentioned that the camps will commence operations within the next two weeks.

Jabeen emphasized that FDE has specifically instructed educational institution heads to motivate students to actively participate in the health camps without disrupting their regular academic schedules. Additionally, she disclosed that teams of doctors from major public and private hospitals in the federal capital will be recruited to conduct check-ups for school children.

Under this program, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training had previously distributed ‘Hygiene Kits’ among students in government educational institutions within the ICT jurisdiction to safeguard their health. Riffat Jabeen also added that doctors are involved to provide guidance to students on health and hygiene matters.
