ISLAMABAD: The district administration has intensified its crackdown against illegal indoor sheesha cafes across the capital, acting on the clear directives of the Islamabad High Court.
Over the past several days, a series of late-night operations have been carried out in various sectors, resulting in the sealing of 30 cafes and arrest of 18 individuals so far.
In the most recent action, 16 cafes were sealed in areas including E-11, Civic Center, F-10, F-11, and I-8. Eleven people were arrested and 2 FIRs were registered. Earlier this week, 7 more cafes — including well-known ones in F-8 and I-9 — were also sealed during late-night operations. Prior to that, another 7 cafes were sealed in sectors F-6, F-7, and E-7, with 7 individuals arrested.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad stated that indoor sheesha cafes are completely banned in the federal capital under the orders of the Islamabad High Court. He also warned that any officer found negligent in enforcing this ban will face action.
The administration has further issued a clear set of rules:

Outdoor sheesha cafes must have a valid permit issued by the office of the concerned Assistant Commissioner.

Serving sheesha to anyone under the age of 18 is strictly prohibited.
In case of any violation, the following actions will be taken:

Immediate sealing of the cafe

FIR against the cafe owner

Arrest of the responsible person

Heavy fines
The Islamabad district administration has announced that these operations will continue until full compliance with court orders is ensured. Cafe owners have been strongly advised to follow the law to avoid strict legal action.
