RAWALPINDI: Eight locations have been allocated for livestock markets in Rawalpindi division for Eidul Azha. Commissioner Rawalpindi, Engineer Amir Khattak, has banned the sale of animals at any place not officially approved.
In Rawalpindi Tehsil, cattle markets will operate at Bhatta Chowk, Chakri Road, and Kallar Syedan Road. Gujar Khan Tehsil will have a market at Galiana Road near the Slaughter House.
In Taxila, markets will be set up near Sharif Hospital Stop on GT Road and at Timber Market Road. Kallar Syedan Tehsil will have a market at Mangal Bypass, while in Kahuta Tehsil, a market will be established at Chan Shah Jalyar on Tangi Road.
The district administration is ensuring cleanliness, disinfectant spray, fire brigade services, and other basic facilities at all markets. Traffic police have also been directed to make a proper traffic plan to avoid congestion around these areas.

On the other hand, Islamabad’s district administration has issued a fresh notification for setting up six official cattle markets in the federal capital, replacing the earlier plan of five. Focal persons have been appointed for each market to monitor operations and assist visitors.
According to the notification, the aim is to regulate animal sales, stop illegal markets, and provide proper facilities. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon said that all markets will be operational from 1st to 13th Zilhajj. No buying or selling will be allowed before this period or outside designated spots.
