Member Administration Talat Mehmood Gondal, also a Grade 19 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service, has been assigned the additional role of Member Estate.

This additional role is for three months or until a new regular Member Estate is appointed. The Establishment Division has issued a notification after the cabinet’s approval.

In another related news, CDA shared plans to improve Islamabad’s infrastructure, including upgrades to Melody Food Street, a new food street in Blue Area, and better traffic management to reduce congestion.

As per the official media report, CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa led a meeting at CDA Headquarters with board members and senior officials.

The meeting focused on improving food quality standards citywide and adding more recreational spaces.

Randhawa directed upgrades for Melody Food Street, including improved lighting, designated parking, and stricter food quality checks by the Islamabad Food Authority. He also announced a new food street in Blue Area with landscaping, decorative lighting, and sufficient parcheggio space.

“Melody Food Street is an important place, and we want people to enjoy good food in a well-maintained area,” Randhawa said. “The Blue Area food street will give residents and visitors more choices.”

To tackle increasing traffic, especially on weekends, Randhawa asked officials to create a traffic plan for major city areas. The CDA also plans to set up specific vehicle bazaars to organize auto-related businesses.

The meeting reviewed the Gandhara Heritage Club’s progress, with Randhawa pushing for its completion on time. Faulty streetlights in parks and on roads like Margalla Road and Expressway will be replaced.
