RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) plans to repair Murree Road for Rs953 million in the next fiscal year. The project has been proposed for the 2025-26 Annual Development Programme.
As per the private newspaper report, an RDA official said Murree Road, from Flashman’s Hotel to Faizabad, needs repairs. The project will start after The Mall underpass is finished by June.
The provincial government aims to improve Murree Road, a key route in Rawalpindi. Repair work and beautification will begin together, giving the road a fresh look.
Murree Road was last paved in 2016, and potholes have formed at places like Marrir Chowk, Naz Cinema, Chandni Chowk, and Shamsabad. Construction in the city has caused issues for drivers.
Mohammad Ali, a motorist, said bumpy roads and construction materials in Saddar damage vehicles. He suggested clearing completed construction sites at Saddar, Teli Mohallah, Naz Cinema, Sixth Road, and Shamsabad.
