KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to change the schedule for matric and intermediate exams so they match the rest of the country.

Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ali Malkani, announced that starting next year, the annual matric and intermediate exams in Sindh will be held in March instead of the hot summer months.

Talking to the media at the inauguration ceremony of a facilitation center at the Karachi Inter Board, Malkani stated that the exams would now be conducted in alignment with the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Universities and Boards said that they will transition to technology-based assessment across Sindh and reduce human involvement in the process. “We will adopt an e-marking system for examinations in 2025,” he added.

Earlier this year, many students fainted during exams due to power outages at different centers across the province. Because of this, the government decided to review the exam schedule to make it easier for students.

On the other hand, the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) announced the results of Matric exams Class 9th & 10th for the year 2023-24 on July 12.
