LAHORE: Following the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a major decision has been made to reorganize law enforcement agencies and combat crime. A notification has been issued to establish dozens of new police stations across Punjab under the Crime Control Department (CCD).
As per the official notice (SO (P-Inq) 3-19/2025), shared with a private newspaper, new police stations have been opened in big cities as well as important districts and towns. Their areas of duty have also been marked clearly.
The main goal of this decision is to modernize the policing system, improve crime monitoring and investigation, enhance police performance, and restore public trust.
These police stations are being established in areas selected based on crime patterns, population density, industrial or border sensitivity, and other important factors.
In Lahore, three new police stations have been created: Lahore-I, Lahore-II, and Lahore-III. Lahore-I will cover the City Police Division and Iqbal Town Division. Lahore-II will oversee Civil Lines and Cantt Divisions, while Lahore-III will handle Saddar and Model Town Divisions.

In South Punjab, this initiative has been expanded to districts like Multan, Vehari, Khanewal, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, and Rajanpur, where CCD police stations have been established.
