KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah chaired a meeting to assess the progress of the Korangi Causeway Bridge construction, additional work on Shahrah-e-Bhutto, and possible solutions for traffic congestion at Sohrab Goth.
During the meeting, the CM allocated Rs1 billion to build an underpass for traffic coming from Korangi Causeway and CBM Road. The funds will also be used to adjust the road layout to manage traffic from different directions. He approved a proposed design for a central roundabout, which will be modified based on site conditions.
The meeting took place at the CM House and was attended by several officials, including Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Planning & Development Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, and others.
As per details, Ghani provided an update on the Korangi Causeway project, which has an estimated cost of Rs9.3 billion. The construction of the bridge and connecting loops is ongoing, and work at the 3000 Korangi Road intersection is also part of the project.

For Shahrah-e-Bhutto, the CM approved the technical clearance for a flyover near Sammo Goth and connecting roads, he asked the planning and development department to complete approvals within a week and start construction promptly.
To fix traffic problems at Sohrab Goth, the CM told the planning and development department to suggest a solution. This includes changing the roundabout and making the roads better for traffic coming from Lyari Expressway, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulshan Chowrangi, and nearby areas.
The CM directed the planning & development and local government departments to collaborate and submit a detailed plan with a design structure for further review.
