NHA increases toll rates again; new taxes apply to highways, motorways from April 2025

ISLAMABAD: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has increased toll taxes on national highways and motorways for the second time this year. The NHA issued a notification about the toll tax increase, which will take effect from April 1, 2025.

In the first three months of this year, toll taxes on national highways and motorways will go up by 125 percent. Earlier, on January 5, the NHA had raised toll taxes across the country’s highways and motorways by up to 100 percent. Now, the NHA has decided to increase toll taxes again for vehicles on motorways and national highways starting April 1.

On national highways, the toll for a car will rise from 60 rupees to 70 rupees, for a wagon from 100 rupees to 150 rupees, for a bus from 200 rupees to 250 rupees, for two- and three-axle trucks from 250 rupees to 300 rupees, and for large trucks from 500 rupees to 550 rupees.

At the Kohat Tunnel, the toll for a car will increase from 150 rupees to 200 rupees, for a wagon from 450 rupees to 500 rupees, for a bus from 550 rupees to 600 rupees, for two- and three-axle trucks from 550 rupees to 600 rupees, and for large trucks from 800 rupees to 900 rupees.

For the Islamabad-Murree route, the toll for a car will go from 150 rupees to 200 rupees, for a wagon from 150 rupees to 200 rupees, for a bus from 300 rupees to 350 rupees, for two- and three-axle trucks from 350 rupees to 400 rupees, and for large trucks from 700 rupees to 800 rupees.

On the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1), the toll for a car will rise from 500 rupees to 550 rupees, for a 12-seat wagon from 750 rupees to 850 rupees, for a 24-seat wagon from 1,000 rupees to 1,150 rupees, for a bus from 1,450 rupees to 1,650 rupees, for two- and three-axle trucks from 1,900 rupees to 2,150 rupees, and for large trucks from 2,300 rupees to 2,650 rupees.

On the Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway (M-3), the toll for a car will increase from 700 rupees to 800 rupees, for a 12-seat wagon from 1,100 rupees to 1,200 rupees, for a 24-seat wagon from 1,600 rupees to 1,750 rupees, for a bus from 2,200 rupees to 2,500 rupees, for two- and three-axle trucks from 2,900 rupees to 3,200 rupees, and for large trucks from 3,500 rupees to 3,950 rupees.

On the Pindi Bhattian Motorway (M-4), the toll for a car will go from 950 rupees to 1,050 rupees, for a 12-seat wagon from 1,400 rupees to 1,550 rupees, for a 14-seat wagon from 2,100 rupees to 2,300 rupees, for a bus from 2,900 rupees to 3,200 rupees, for two- and three-axle trucks from 3,800 rupees to 4,200 rupees, and for large trucks from 4,600 rupees to 5,100 rupees.

On the Multan-Sukkur Motorway (M-5), the toll for a car will rise from 1,100 rupees to 1,200 rupees, for a 12-seat wagon from 1,650 rupees to 1,750 rupees, for a 24-seat wagon from 2,350 rupees to 2,550 rupees, for a bus from 3,350 rupees to 3,650 rupees, for two- and three-axle trucks from 4,400 rupees to 4,700 rupees, and for large trucks from 5,550 rupees to 5,750 rupees.

On the Hassan Abdal-Havelian-Mansehra Expressway, the toll for a car will increase from 250 rupees to 300 rupees, for a 12-seat wagon from 400 rupees to 450 rupees, for a 24-seat wagon from 550 rupees to 600 rupees, for a bus from 800 rupees to 900 rupees, for two- and three-axle trucks from 1,050 rupees to 1,150 rupees, and for large trucks from 1,250 rupees to 1,400 rupees.
