KARACHI: The Sindh government has made a decision to protect people in Karachi and across Sindh from extra transport fares. To do this, they have canceled the holidays of transport officers during Eid-ul-Fitr 2025.
Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon said that all leaves for transport department officers and staff have been canceled. This is to take quick action against anyone charging extra fares. The goal is to ensure people do not face problems during Eid.
He also said that no one should pay extra fares. People can file complaints, and the government will act fast. No one will be allowed to overcharge.
The senior minister has also ordered special action against transporters who charge more than the set fares.
On the other hand, the Sindh government has announced holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr. According to their notification, the holidays will be from March 31 to April 2. Government and semi-government offices will stay closed for three days.

The federal government and the State Bank of Pakistan have also announced three days of holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025. Their notification states that the holidays will be from March 31 (Monday) to April 2 (Wednesday). During this time, all government and semi-government offices will remain closed.
