The federal government decided to hold the meeting in Peshawar to ensure Ramadan starts at the same time across the country.

A few days ago, the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) suggested that Ramadan might begin in Pakistan on March 2, 2025.

According to SUPARCO, the new moon will be born on February 28, 2025, at 5:45 AM Pakistan time, and by sunset, it will be 12 hours old. They noted that the moon might be visible in Saudi Arabia on February 28, but not in Pakistan.

However, they said the final decision on the Ramadan moon sighting rests with the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

It should be clear that the final decision on the moon sighting will be made after consultation with the members of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
