ISLAMABAD: Secretary Rashid Langriyal of the Power Division has disclosed that 8 crore units of electricity theft have been uncovered during the operation against such theft.
On Twitter (x), Power Secretary Rashid Langriyal, while sharing data related to electricity theft, reported the detection of 8 crore units of electricity theft, along with the apprehension of 194 individuals involved in electricity theft.

The Power Secretary also noted that fines amounting to 35 crore 20 lakh rupees have been levied to date.
According to Rashid Langriyal, the Power Secretary, LESCO and Mapco are outperforming other companies in combating electricity theft.
It is important to highlight that the nationwide operation against electricity theft is being conducted as per the directives of the caretaker prime minister.
Earlier, Secretary Rashid Langriyal of the Power Division stated that the crackdown on power theft has commenced and emphasized that it is just the beginning, promising a relentless and unforgiving approach.
Furthermore, Rashid Langriyal disclosed that 1 crore 1 million rupees have been collected in connection with electricity theft, 21 individuals have been apprehended for electricity theft, and fines totaling 164 million rupees have been imposed.
