Sadqa-e-Fitr (Fitrana) and Fidya rates announced for 2025 in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Islamic Ideological Council has announced the amount for Sadqa-e-Fitr (Fitrana) and Fidya for 2025 in Pakistan.

As per the official statement, Dr. Raghib Hussain Naemi announced that this year, Sadqa-e-Fitr and Fidya for fasting are set at a minimum of 220 rupees per person based on wheat, while the amount based on barley is 450 rupees per person.

He further mentioned that for dates, 1650 rupees per person should be given, for raisins 2500 rupees, and for barley 5000 rupees as Sadqa-e-Fitr  and Fidya for fasting.

The Chairman of the Islamic Ideological Council emphasized that those who can afford it should give Sadqa-e-Fitr (Fitrana). It is obligatory for every Muslim, whether slave or free, male or female.

According to the statement, one Sa’ (approx. 2 kilograms) is the measure for wheat, barley, and raisins, while two Sa’ (approx. 4 kilograms) is for dates. The Fidya for 30 days is calculated as 6600 rupees for wheat, and 13500 rupees for barley respectively.

It was further stated that the Fidya for 30 days is 49500 rupees for dates, 75000 rupees for raisins, and 150000 rupees for barley.

They also said that if someone deliberately breaks their fast, they must fast for 60 consecutive days or provide two meals a day to 60 needy persons. Those using government-subsidized flour can also give Sadqa-e-Fitr and Fidya for fasting, totaling 160 rupees.
