ISLAMABAD: The Directorate of Immigration and Passports has expanded the fast-track passport service to 26 additional cities. A notification has been issued in this regard.
Passports will now be issued under the fast-track category in 47 cities across Pakistan. As per the official notification, the facility is already available in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta. It will now also be available in Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mianwali, and Bhakkar.

Kohat, Swabi, Swat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Hangu, Abbottabad, and Haripur are also included in the list of cities with the fast-track category facility.
The notification further states that Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Bagh, Kotli, and Rawalakot have also been added to the fast-track category.
On the other hand, it should be noted that the Passport Department has denied reports of a further increase in passport fees, stating that the last fee hike was implemented on March 7. The spokesperson has requested citizens to ignore false news.

Fee for a 36-page passport valid for five years is Rs. 4,500 in the normal category, Rs. 7,500 in the urgent category, and Rs. 12,500 in the fast-track category.
For a 72-page passport valid for five years, the fee is Rs. 8,200 in the normal category, Rs. 13,500 in the urgent category, and Rs. 18,500 in the fast-track category.
