ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police has made some changes in its appointments and transfers. Captain (Retired) Hamzah Humayun has been posted as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Islamabad.
According to a private TV channel report, Hamzah Humayun belongs to the 43rd Common Batch of the Police Service and has served in several important positions in the past.
Hamzah Humayun has previously worked in the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and held various key roles in Islamabad Police as a Superintendent of Police (SP).
His past postings include SP Saddar, SP Traffic, and SP CTD. He has also served as the Chief Security Officer to the Interior Minister and Personal Staff Officer (PSO) to the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad. A notification for his appointment as SSP CTD has been issued.
In other changes, SSP Operations Shoaib Khan has been relieved of the additional charge of Safe City. Muhammad Iqbal has been appointed as the SSP Safe City.

Muhammad Iqbal will also continue to hold the charges of SSP Law and Order and Training. It may be noted that Muhammad Iqbal was previously performing duties as SSP CTD. Notifications for the appointments of both officers have been issued by Islamabad Police.
Last month, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, was transferred, and Muhammad Jawad Tariq has taken over as the new DIG Operations for Islamabad Police.
An Islamabad Police spokesperson stated that Syed Ali Raza is now appointed as DIG Security and Headquarters.
The spokesperson also said that Shoaib Khan has been named Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations in Islamabad.
It may be noted that in May 2024, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi had appointed Syed Ali Raza (PSP/BS-19) as DIG Operations Islamabad. Prior to that, Ali Raza served as SSP Operations in Lahore before his posting as DIG in Islamabad.
