LAHORE: The Lahore Bar Association (LBA) annual elections will take place tomorrow, January 11, 2025. A total of 35 candidates are running for 11 positions.
According to media report ,there are 14,712 registered voters who will cast their votes using a biometric system. Polling will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Violations of the code of conduct could result in heavy fines for the candidates.
In the elections, four candidates are competing for the position of President: Irfan Hayat Bajwa, Mubashir Rehman Chaudhary, Adeeb Aslam Bhindar, and Mian Faiz Ali.
For the Vice President role, six candidates Sajid Hussain Baloch, Malik Afzal Bashir, Malik Saif Khokhar, Mian Sharjeel, Mian Tahir Munir and Humayun Zahir Bhatti are in the race.
There are three candidates each competing for Vice President at Model Town and Cantt Courts. The Model Town candidates are Asif Kanwal Khan, Aslam Bhullar, and Waqas Kahloon. At Cantt Courts, the candidates are Aflatoon Jhakar, Zahid Mehmood Gul, and Abid Latif Khokhar.
For the Secretary position, six candidates are in the race: Junaid Haider Ansari, Shoaib Ashraf Bhatti, Malik Sharjeel Khokhar, Malik Fahad Nisar Khokhar, Naseer Bhala, and Waqar Khan. Three candidates are running for Joint Secretary: Sameena Bisra, Hafiz Shujaat Ali, and Shakeel Ishtiaq Khan.

The Finance Secretary seat has three candidates: Ejaz Gujjar, Zohaib Khan, and Malik Nadeem. For the Librarian position, four candidates Arshad Chadhar, M Faryad Chaudhry, Sameena Khokhar, and Adnan Amjad Bhatti are running.
The Auditor position will be a direct contest between Professor Atiq Ahmad Khan and Raheela Hafeez Rana.
