Report Says, Marriages are often expensive and fancy events in Pakistan, putting a heavy financial strain on families, especially those with low incomes. Traditional South Asian wedding celebrations include costly ceremonies, rich food, and beautiful decorations.

This financial burden has taken a toll on many Pakistanis as the country endures a prolonged economic crisis characterized by soaring inflation and high power bills.

According to local customs, the bride’s male relatives are often expected to provide dowry to the groom, which can delay marriages.

As per report, Applications for the program can be submitted online at https://cm.punjab.gov.pk. A helpline has also been established at 1312, and special teams will visit the homes of applicants to ensure transparency.

Under the mass marriage program, each bride will receive around Rs100,000 ($350) along with furniture, clothing, a dinner set, and 13 essential household items.

It should be remembered that the largest historic program of mass marriages was approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz on October 9.

While approving the program, the provincial cabinet decided to organize the mass marriage of 3,000 girls from poor families in the said program, in which newly married couples will be given Rs.
