LAHORE: The Punjab cabinet has approved solar systems for 4.5 million consumers using up to 500 units of electricity. The decision was taken during the 11th meeting of the Punjab cabinet, presided over by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
“We are introducing solar systems to 4.5 million consumers using up to 500 units,” stated Punjab CM Maryam. “Rising electricity bills have caused public concern. My team and I have worked together to find a solution.”
The cabinet commended the chief minister for establishing fixed flour rates for the first time in Punjab’s history. She acknowledged, “Even without purchasing wheat, controlling flour prices is a challenging task.”
Maryam emphasized, “As soon as the flour price increased by Rs200, I immediately contacted my team. It is crucial to monitor and implement measures to maintain affordable flour prices.”
The food minister needs to dedicate 16 hours daily to regulate the prices of essential commodities.
Maryam pointed out, “The individual performance of the food minister is crucial compared to that of the entire cabinet. Hard work is essential for everyone to progress. Punjab’s young cabinet has demonstrated outstanding performance in just four months.”
She emphasized, “The Social Economic Registry of Punjab is commencing operations. The exemption of taxes for vulnerable consumers is a positive step.” She underscored, “It is crucial to safeguard the interests of the impoverished in our nation. We must prevent a scenario where the wealthy thrive while the less fortunate struggle to survive.”
The cabinet also endorsed a notification on a standardized version of the Holy Quran and authorized the University of Health Sciences to conduct the MD CAT 2024 exam.
