Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has recently introduced a new WhatsApp feature, functioning akin to speed dial, aimed at enhancing user communication management.
The new WhatsApp feature is a “favourite” filter that will allow users to prioritize important chats, groups, and calls within the instant messaging app, International Tech Agency reported.
The announcement was made by the 40-year-old tech billionaire Zuckerberg via his official WhatsApp channel, following his recent reveal of new AI-powered business features and Meta Verified for WhatsApp.
Users can use the new feature to conveniently locate their most important chats and groups directly from the chats tab.
Furthermore, a new filter will soon be added to the calls tab. This will allow users to easily find their favorite contacts and quickly make calls with just a tap. The feature works on both Android and iOS devices.
How does Meta’s new WhatsApp filter work?
There are multiple methods for users to mark chats and groups as favorites, media reported.
- Users can add chats and groups to their favorites by accessing the “Favorites” tab within the chats list.
- Users can also manage favorites within the app settings, where they can easily add, organize, and remove them.
- They can designate specific contacts and groups as favorites directly from the chat info or the calls tab.
