RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi district administration will establish 11 cattle markets starting June 7 and has imposed a ban on setting up illegal markets and selling sacrificial animals on streets and roads ahead of Eid ul Adha 2024.
There will be three cattle markets: Gulistan Colony, Al-Haram City, and Bhata Chowk. There will be two cattle markets in Rawalpindi city: a temporary one in Rawat and another at Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, Sector Two.
There will be two cattle markets at Gujar Khan on GT Road. Marketplaces will be built in Taxila close to the New Sharif Hospital on GT Road and the HIT near Sunday Bazaar in the Taxila cantonment.
A makeshift cattle market will be established at Mangal Bypass in Tehsil Kallar Syedan, and it will be situated at Sakhi Sarwar Road in Kahuta.
The purpose of these arrangements is to make it easier for locals to buy and sell sacrificial animals in advance of the holiday.
