COAS Commends Martyrs, Soldiers at GHQ Investiture Ceremony

RAWALPINDI: The GHQ held its Investiture ceremony at the General Headquarters Rawalpindi, as reported by the military media wing on Monday.

As per the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), awarded military honors to Army personnel for their courageous actions during operations and commendable services to the nation.

The ISPR noted a significant turnout of senior Army officers and families of awardees at the ceremony. Various medals, including Sitara-I-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-I-Basalat, were conferred upon officers and soldiers. Medals for the Shuhada (martyrs) were accepted by their family members.

In homage to the Shuhada and Ghazis (warriors), COAS emphasized the nobility of sacrificing one’s life for the defense of the motherland. He highlighted that the sacrifices of martyrs reinforce the nation’s determination to fight with unwavering dedication and a spirit of sacrifice.

COAS also commended the resilient families of the Shuhada for their sacrifices. He underscored that Shuhada and Ghazis are revered national heroes, to whom the nation owes its independence and security. He described the Shuhada as symbols of hope and resilience for the nation.
