ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a new gas tariff notification, raising fixed monthly charges by 50% for domestic consumers, while keeping unit rates unchanged for households.
According to the notification, protected domestic consumers will now pay Rs600 per month in fixed charges, up from Rs400. The unit price for gas remains the same across all slabs for these users.
For non-protected users, those consuming up to 1.5 hm³ will now pay Rs1,500 per month, up from Rs1,000, while users above 1.5 hm³ will face an increase from Rs2,000 to Rs3,000 per month in fixed charges.
The notification clearly states that there is no increase in the per-unit gas tariff for domestic consumers, and the revision only applies to fixed monthly charges.
