Free Solar Systems: In a bid to address energy demands and endorse sustainable practices, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has revealed intentions to provide complimentary solar systems to eligible individuals nationwide.

Addressing the media in Sukkur, PPP leader Khurshid Shah elaborated on the plan, which aims to equip households with solar systems capable of producing up to 300 units of electricity.

Emphasizing the coherence of this initiative with the party’s electoral agenda, Shah highlighted the commitment to furnish free electricity to users consuming up to 300 units upon assuming governmental duties.

Nevertheless, Shah cautioned about the time required for the program’s execution, citing the intricacies involved in such an endeavor.

The PPP’s announcement comes amidst similar promises from other political factions, including the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), whose Vice President had previously outlined intentions to provide free electricity to consumers consuming up to 200 units.

Of particular note, the provincial administration of Punjab, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, recently disclosed its ambitious plan to distribute solar systems throughout the province. During a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nawaz, it was revealed that 50,000 solar systems would be distributed in the program’s inaugural phase.

Termed the “solar home solution program,” led by Chief Minister Nawaz, the initiative aims to equip households with advanced solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other requisite components. A significant allocation of 12.6 billion rupees has been designated for the initial phase of program implementation.
