KARACHI: Karachi police have issued new guidelines for schools and seminaries to ensure children’s safety following a rise in kidnapping cases.
As per the report, the guidelines state that children should not leave school or seminaries with anyone other than their parents. Parents have also been advised not to send children alone and to ensure supervision during travel.
Recently, an attempted kidnapping in Korangi’s Bhatai Colony was stopped when a young girl and a woman shouted for help, forcing the kidnappers to flee.
The incident, caught on CCTV, shows two men on a motorcycle trying to abduct the girl. One man got off the bike and grabbed her, but she resisted and screamed. The woman with her also called for help, causing the kidnappers to escape.

Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident based on the family’s statement. Legal action is underway to find the suspects.
This attempt has raised concerns about the police’s handling of similar cases. Authorities are still searching for the culprits behind the kidnapping and death of a minor named Sarim in New Karachi.
Two other missing children, 5-year-old Aaliyan and 6-year-old Ali, remain untraced after being abducted from Garden West over a week ago, CCTV footage shows a man and woman on a motorcycle with the children, who appeared semi-conscious.
