RAWALPINDI: Army chief General Syed Asim Munir has extended an invitation to the Pakistani cricket team players presently undergoing training at Kakul Academy for an Iftaar dinner.
The team’s fitness program at the academy is scheduled to conclude on April 7. Upon leaving Abbottabad for Rawalpindi, the players will partake in Iftaar dinner alongside the army chief.
Earlier in the week, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi visited Kakul to oversee the ongoing fitness camp administered by trainers from the Pakistan Army, in preparation for Pakistan’s T20 series against New Zealand.
The purpose of the visit was to gain firsthand insights into the training camp and express gratitude to the army for their indispensable support in organizing the camp.
The fitness camp has played a pivotal role in improving the physical capabilities of Pakistan’s T20 players, ensuring their optimal readiness for upcoming cricketing commitments, including the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled for June this year.
During his visit, the chairman also interacted with the players, personally praising them for their dedication and active participation in the camp.
He expressed contentment with the players’ eagerness and dedication towards enhancing their fitness levels.
