COAS General Asim Munir Advocates Indigenous Innovation at POF Visit

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir emphasized the paramount importance of achieving self-sufficiency and the indigenous development of technology to propel national advancement during his recent trip to the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) in Wah.

While touring Pakistan’s largest defense industrial complex, the army chief received a comprehensive briefing on POF’s production capabilities, its substantial role in meeting the defense needs of the country’s armed forces, and its potential for exports.

Gen Munir also observed a diverse array of POF products, including newly designed and locally manufactured weapons and ammunition undergoing testing and trials.

In his address to the officers and staff, the COAS commended their significant contributions to both the security and economy of the nation, affirming POF’s status as the premier defense industry in Pakistan.

“The pathway to national progress is delineated by indigenous and domestic industries like POF Wah. Our commitment to fostering self-sufficiency and incorporating cutting-edge technology remains steadfast, as it is crucial for ensuring reliability and fortifying Pakistan’s defense,” remarked the army chief.
