PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has taken another major step for public welfare by adding more treatments to the Sehat Card Plus program.

According to KP Government Spokesperson Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, free treatment for four serious diseases has now been included in the health card scheme. These include liver, kidney, and bone marrow transplants, as well as the installation of hearing devices.

Barrister Saif also said that Out-Patient Department (OPD) services will soon start as a pilot project in Mardan.

He added that the Sehat Card Plus is currently providing free health services to 10.6 million families across the province. Since the launch of the program in 2016, more than 4.2 million people have received free medical treatment. A total of Rs. 108 billion has been spent so far to improve public healthcare.

The government spokesperson further said that KP citizens can get free treatment in 753 hospitals across the country that are on the panel.

For more information about the Sehat Card, people can call the 24/7 toll-free helpline at 0800-89898.
