ISLAMABAD: The summer vacation schedule for Islamabad’s lower courts has been officially announced.

According to a notification issued by the Deputy Registrar with the approval of Acting Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar, civil, district, and sessions courts in Islamabad will remain closed for summer break from August 1 to August 31, 2025.

The notification states that judges will be allowed to take special leave in groups. This arrangement is made to ensure that court work is not affected during the holidays. It also mentions that proper steps must be taken to hear important cases and clear old pending cases during this period, in line with judicial policy.

Earlier, it was announced that there will be a holiday on May 28 in Islamabad High Court and lower courts on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer. The Deputy Registrar issued a notification on the instructions of the Acting Chief Justice, confirming the closure of the Islamabad High Court on May 28.

The notification also confirmed that the District and Sessions Courts (East and West) in Islamabad will remain closed on the same day. Similar announcements were made earlier for Lahore High Court and its subordinate courts.
