KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah made a surprise visit to Shahrah-e-Bhutto Highway. He told the workers to speed up the construction work. Senior provincial minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani, and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab were with him.
The Chief Minister spoke to the Project Director and said that Eid holidays are over, so the work pace should increase. He wants the Jam Sadiq Interchange and Qayyumabad Interchange finished soon to open them for traffic and help the public.
The Project Director told the Chief Minister that Jam Sadiq Interchange will take three months to build. The Chief Minister asked him to complete it in two months instead.
He also instructed that a roundabout under construction near the causeway on Shahrah-e-Bhutto should be finished quickly. He asked for solutions to make it easier to reach DHA and Ayesha Mosque. He said he will hold a meeting on Tuesday or Wednesday and asked for drawings to be prepared.

The Chief Minister said that in the next three years, Shahrah-e-Bhutto should connect to the seaport, and preparations should start now. Linking Shahrah-e-Bhutto with KPT will help seaport traffic reach other parts of the country more easily.
Later, the Chief Minister paid the tax at the Shahrah-e-Bhutto toll plaza and went to Qayyumabad Interchange. There, he was briefed that the connection between Shahrah-e-Bhutto and Qayyumabad Interchange near Qayyumabad Bridge is ready. The work for going up and down from Qayyumabad Interchange to Shahrah-e-Bhutto is complete.
During the discussion, he said Qayyumabad Interchange will open for traffic by the end of April or the first week of May. He asked for faster work on the 4-kilometer elevated road from Qayyumabad to Samoo Goth. The Yellow Line Jam Sadiq Bridge work should be completed in the next two months.
