KARACHI: All private schools in Sindh have been directed to start a tree plantation campaign. According to media report, Additional Director Rafia Javed has issued a notice instructing private schools to take part in this initiative as per the orders of the Sindh Education Minister.

Rafia Javed stated that global warming is a significant issue affecting the world, including our region. She emphasized that school administrations should educate young students about the importance of tree plantation.

She further explained that the aim of this awareness campaign is to help students understand the effects of global warming. Environmental pollution and climate change are growing concerns worldwide, but people often overlook the risks. The cutting of trees and forests has played a major role in climate changes, leading to more extreme weather conditions.

She pointed out that due to this, the level of oxygen in the air has decreased, reducing the ability to absorb carbon dioxide and purify the air.

Rafia Javed added that trees play an important role in cleaning the air and providing fresh oxygen. Tree plantation has become a global movement, and many people are actively participating in such efforts.

The Additional Director stated that the Sindh School Education and Literacy Department has taken the initiative to ensure the success of this program. She urged people to participate in this effort responsibly. Planting trees can help tackle climate change, improve air quality, cool urban areas, conserve water, and reduce pollution and drought.

She concluded by saying that the Education Minister has instructed private schools to start tree plantation campaigns and spread awareness among students about the importance of planting trees. She also advised schools to begin a plantation campaign in and around their premises, especially with the arrival of spring.
