LAHROE: The Punjab government has decided to slash the prices of naan and roti in four districts of the province to alleviate inflationary pressures on the public.
Notifications issued by the deputy commissioner offices in these districts have directed the immediate implementation of the revised prices.
According to the notifications, the price of roti has been lowered by Rs4 to Rs16 in Lahore, while in Sheikhupura, Nankana, and Kasur districts, the new price for a 100-gram roti is set at Rs15. However, the price of a 120-gram naan remains constant at Rs20 across all cities.
The notification specifies that this order is effective immediately within the jurisdiction of District Lahore and will continue until further notice. It prohibits any individual or shopkeeper from charging prices higher than those fixed for the aforementioned items.
