ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the federal cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, was held at the Prime Minister’s House, several important matters were discussed.
As per the media reports, the Prime Minister informed the cabinet about a letter from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The letter confirmed that Saudi Arabia would continue supplying Pakistan with petroleum products worth $100 million per month on a deferred payment basis. The Prime Minister thanked the Saudi leadership and said that Saudi Arabia has always stood by Pakistan in difficult times.
The cabinet was briefed on the implementation of the E-Office system in ministries and divisions. It was reported that the use of E-Office has reached 98% across all federal divisions, while 39 divisions have achieved 100% implementation.
Additionally, 21 divisions have fully implemented E-Office for inter-ministerial communication. The Prime Minister directed that all ministries and departments should achieve 100% implementation by March 20, 2025. He also emphasized the need for full digitization of services in Pakistan’s missions abroad.

In addition, the Cabinet approved the signing of an agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea based on the recommendation of the Ministry of Climate Change. This agreement aims to protect and ensure the sustainable use of marine resources in international waters.
The cabinet approved the appointment of Kamran Jahangir as Managing Director of the National Book Foundation on the recommendation of the Ministry of Federal Education. Additionally, a list of six candidates for the National Commission for Human Rights was approved for submission to the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition.
Federal government cabinet approved an extension of the agreement related to Somalia’s National Identity System on the recommendation of the Ministry of Interior. This agreement covers verification services, a mobile enrollment application, and an official payment gateway. Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is assisting Somalia in developing its identification system.
Government cabinet approved the appointment of Dr. Shahid Aslam Mirza as Managing Director of the Korangi Fisheries Harbor Authority on the recommendation of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs. Additionally, a commission was formed to investigate irregularities in the Pakistan Engineering Council elections.
