ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Market Committee has issued an updated price list for vegetables, fruits, and other essential food items, effective Sunday, February 9, 2025. The list reflects the latest market rates as of Sunday (09-02-2025).
The revised list features everyday kitchen essentials such as potatoes, tomatoes, onions, garlic, and ginger, categorized by quality (Grade 1 and Grade 2).
In recent weeks, prices for tomatoes, cabbage, and cauliflower have seen a significant decline, with tomato prices dropping further today, providing much-needed relief to consumers. Additionally, carrots, potatoes, and ginger are now available at more affordable rates, easing the financial strain on households.
The price list is updated daily to ensure transparency and fair pricing. Consumers are advised to review the official rates before making purchases to avoid overpaying. Any cases of overcharging or irregularities should be reported to the relevant authorities for prompt action.
At Islamabad’s fruit and vegetable market (Sabzi Mandi), produce from all regions of Pakistan is available for sale. In addition to various cities in Punjab, fruits and vegetables from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also brought here. Farmers from remote areas of Balochistan and Sindh send their goods to the capital for sale. Seasonal produce from Gilgit-Baltistan, as well as items from neighboring countries like Iran and Afghanistan, can also be found in the market. Shopkeepers in Islamabad regularly visit the market to purchase goods, while numerous vendors from surrounding areas come to buy items in bulk.
