ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Market Committee has issued the revised price list for vegetables, fruits, and other essential food items for today, Wednesday, 5 February 2025, reflecting the latest market rates as of 5 February 2025.
The updated list features everyday kitchen essentials such as potatoes, tomatoes, onions, garlic, and ginger, divided into two quality categories—Grade 1 and Grade 2.
Over the past few weeks, the prices of tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, and cauliflower have experienced a notable decline, offering significant relief to consumers. Furthermore, items like carrots, potatoes, and ginger are now available at affordable rates, easing the financial burden on households.
To ensure transparency and fair pricing, the price list is updated daily. Consumers are advised to check the official rates before making purchases to avoid being overcharged. Any cases of overpricing or irregularities should be reported to the relevant authorities for prompt action.

Kinnow Prices Drop by Over PKR 50 per Dozen
The Islamabad Market Committee has released the official price list for fruits, effective Wednesday, 5 February 2025.
Kinnow, which has been fully ripe since January (last month), is now widely available in the market. Grade A kinnow is priced between PKR 204 to 308 per dozen, compared to yesterday’s range of PKR 352 to 374, marking a drop of over PKR 50 per dozen. While some supermarkets and regions sell kinnow by weight (kilogram), others offer it by the dozen. Smaller-sized and lower-quality kinnows are also available at more affordable rates, catering to diverse consumer preferences.
The updated list shows that most fruit prices have remained stable, with only minor fluctuations observed in certain items—either a slight increase or decrease. The list features a variety of seasonal produce, including bananas, oranges, apples, guavas, grapes, and other fresh fruits currently available in the market.

According to the latest update, the price of live chicken today is set at Rs 385/kg, marking a Rs 30 drop compared to yesterday’s rate of Rs 415 per kilogram. Meanwhile, eggs are priced at Rs 232 per dozen, showing a slight increase from yesterday’s rate of Rs 230 per dozen. These revised rates have been enforced citywide to ensure fair and consistent pricing for consumers across Islamabad.
